Zeverland NPCs: your camp has a staff

You don't build alone. Zeverland lets you recruit NPC survivors who take real jobs in your camp — cooking, sewing, brick-making, patrols — while you're out in the red zones.

Recruiting & job roles

Camps in Zeverland can recruit NPC survivors, and the point of a crew is division of labor. Roles seen in playtests and official material: cooking (food from your camp production), sewing, brick-making (construction materials) and patrols (camp defense against zeds). While your crew works, the camp keeps producing.

NPCs in playtest footage are named characters who sit at your fire, not spawned vendors — and the July 2026 roadmap lists "NPC & building polish" as an active workstream, plus an expanded faction storyline.

Factions seen so far

The playtest HUD showed reputation quests tied to factions — among them The Rebuilders and The Misfits — with tips pointing to faction questlines over the radio. Faction depth is thin in the public record so far; the expanded faction storyline is on the roadmap.
